Three-part ratios
Ratio Simplifier Calculator for 3 Numbers
Enter three values to reduce a three-part ratio to its simplest equivalent form. Decimals and fractions are supported too.
Simplify 3 numbers
All three values are reduced by the same common factor.

How three-part ratio simplification works
The rule is the same as for a two-part ratio: every part must be changed by exactly the same factor. For 24:36:60, 12 is the largest whole number that divides all three values, so the simplified ratio is 2:3:5.
If there is no common factor greater than 1 across all three numbers, the ratio is already in simplest form.
Examples
| Ratio | Divide by | Simplified |
|---|---|---|
| 12:18:24 | 6 | 2:3:4 |
| 15:25:35 | 5 | 3:5:7 |
| 8:12:20 | 4 | 2:3:5 |
| 6:9:10 | 1 | 6:9:10 |
FAQs
How do you simplify a ratio with three numbers?
Find the greatest common factor that divides all three numbers, then divide each number by that same factor.
What if only two of the three numbers share a factor?
You can only reduce the complete three-part ratio by a factor shared by all three values. If the only common factor is 1, the ratio is already simplest.
Can three-number ratios contain decimals?
Yes. Convert the decimals to a whole-number ratio first, then divide all three parts by their greatest common factor.
